Unknown Invader (2D Shooter project)
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
(Scroll down to the bottom for the download versions)
Update: Due to playability issues with the WebGL build I have decided to take that version down. The other two versions work perfectly fine and it would be much appreciated if you left some feedback!
minor issue: The player character movement seems to jitter around slightly when first starting the game. It goes away after about 4-5 seconds and shouldn't get in the way of gameplay.
This is my 2D shooter project that I created for my course.
I made the following modifications:
{Major Modifications:
1) New original character sprites, animations, and environment. New UI with the exception of the menu buttons.
2) New original Music for both the main menu and in-game. Replaced original sound effects with new original sound effects
3) Completely reworked enemy scripts and the projectile system to provide a new feel for the game. Projectiles now have particle systems.
{Minor Modifications(*):
1) Added 2D lighting system to provide a new experience
2) Removed the score system and created new objective scripts
3) Created health bar and script to manage various interactions with the health system
4) Created audio proximity script to give more depth to enemies
*Despite being minor modifications in the scope of the entire game, these changes arguably took the longest to implement due to the structure of the premade scripts.

I hope the game is at least somewhat enjoyable. The scripts and systems that were given as a base for this project really limited what was possible for me to create as a beginner of C#, I had to find a lot of workarounds for many of the scripts I created.
Thanks for checking it out!
